However, there was an indomitable hunger to do something for his country and specifically his village. That’s how the foundation of Sahakar Maharshi Shankarrao Kolhe Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana Ltd. was laid. His dream was backed by poor, illiterate small landholders of the Kopargaon Taluka. From a humble start, the group today has diversified interests in Education, Sugar, Liquor, Ethanol, Chemicals, Pharma, Power and Solvents as well.
